Richard A. Aronson, MD

A Duke University graduate, Dr. Aronson is originally from Boston. He completed medical school at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University and a residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Aronson joined Guilford Medical Associates in 1990 and has served as a medical director of the Diabetes Treatment Center and Wesley long Nursing Center. He is currently a medical director for Choice Health Management Services, the second largest provider of long term care in North Carolina, and was instrumental in bringing the Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center to Greensboro. Additionally, he is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist.

Ravi R. Avva, MD

A Greensboro native, Dr. Avva graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University School of Medicine. He received a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Duke University and also completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University. Dr. Avva joined Guilford Medical in 1998. He has previously served on the Board of the Greater Greensboro Medical Society and as a medical director for Moses Cone Extended Care.

Stephen A. South, MD

A Vermont native, Dr. South moved to North Carolina with his parents in 1973. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He completed the University of Virginia internal medicine residency program in Roanoke, and subsequently a fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. He joined Guilford Medical Associates in 1992. He currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Medicine, UNC-CH, a medical director for the Diabetes Treatment Program at Moses Cone, and a medical director for Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and a Certified Clinical Densitometrist.
